There were two dogs
at a party, one a german shepherd and the other a tiny white,
nervous dog. Howard Ungerleider, Rush's road manager, called the
shepherd By-Tor because anyone who walked into the house was bitten.
The other dog was called Snow Dog because of its white color, so
from that night on Howard called the pair "By-Tor and the Snow
Dog." - Inspiration for the song By-Tor and the Snow
Dog
